To achieve a high level of mobility in the water beginners must develop the basic skills of water confidence, streamlining, propulsion and breathing.
These skills need to be taught in an easy to remember sequence that will become the foundation for all future stroke development and can be reinforced as the strokes are further developed and refined at all levels:
Submerge the Face
Push – Glide
Push – Glide – Kick
Push – Glide – Kick – Arm Stroke
Push – Glide – Kick – Arm Stroke – Breathe
