Thursday 6th March heats for backstroke and front crawl.

Dear swimmers,

Please note that there will be no normal training on Thursday 6th March from 6pm onwards (5.30-6pm usual training), the heats of the Club Championship will be taking place. Entries have closed for this. There will also be no land training.

For those taking part remember the warm-up starts at 6pm, please do not be late.

Thursday 6th March heats for backstroke and front crawl.

The following age groups will have straight finals on Sunday 23rd March (ie no heats as five or less competitors) and do not need to attend the heats.
(remember that age is at 31st December 2014)

8 and under boys and girls all events
15/16 years boys all events
17 and over boys and girls all events

This year the heats for those 11 and over will be seeded in speed order, to make them closer and more enjoyable. These results will then be sorted into the age groups.

The fastest five swimmers in each age group will then swim in the A final on finals day with the next five in the B final. Make sure you swim as fast as you can in your heat as you may be competing against swimmers in other heats.

We will need lots of parent volunteers for both the heats and the finals. Please read the notice on the club noticeboard and volunteer on the night.
Any queries please email me.

Summer Training 2013

TRAINING DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAY PERIOD – 1ST JULY UNTIL 12TH AUGUST

This year swimming will be reduced to two sessions a week over the six-week period of the school holidays. There will be no swimming for Minnows and Piranhas after their last lesson on the 29th June. They will resume normal training when the schools go back in mid-August.

Dolphins and Sharks can train for one-hour a week during the first hour of either the Tuesday or Thursday night session. All senior club swimmers can attend both sessions if they wish. I would encourage swimmers to take a break at some point to ensure that they are rested before the full training programme returns after the holidays.

The sessions are as follows:

TUESDAY NIGHT – 6pm till 8pm

THURSDAY NIGHT – 6pm till 8pm

Training will return to normal on Tuesday 13th August.
