This meet is a regular on our calendar but this year the Scottish Schools had four in Aberdeen and with the Fife Leagues the next day, only our most committed stalwarts travelled to Grangemouth. Under the wing of Coach Mark McQuilton they produced numerous outstanding swims. Ollie picked up three medals in his age-group swimming as a 15-yr-old for the first time. Murdo slashed a massive 10-seconds off his breaststroke time and is now only a gnat’s whisker away from achieving a SNAGS consideration time.
Cameron, improving month on month showed he can swim with the best of them taking over nine-seconds off his 100m Freestyle time. The 200m IM finished as a feather in Murdo’s cap as he picked up first place and a lovely gold medal to go with it. Findlay, struggling to get back to full fitness after knee problems, didn’t shine this weekend, but I’m sure that as he recovers his times will once again plummet.
My thanks to Mark McQuilton for supporting the boys to Grangemouth at late notice.
